DW 4002P Double Pedal (HELP!)

Hey, I just got the DW 4002P Double bass pedal last week, and I like it a lot. My only problem is adjusting the sensitivity - Its near impossible to get any speed on them, because I have to use so much f'n force to get em going. Anyone have any Ideas on how to ease up the sensitivity?

adjust the spring tension. pull the springs down, (do one, then the other, obviously) and twist that washer thing so it goes up or down, depending on where it feels best for u. (up = more tension, down = less tension) www.dwdrums.com might have some more on this.
