Now for the flip side of Lord Foul's post. Do you dwell on the past? Can you not let things go?

I, for one, have a horrible time forgiving the past. I hold stupid grudges that don't get me anywhere. I try not to, but I can't shake it. It sucks!

I try to learn from my past. I'll dwell on it for a while, go into a horrible depression, and then resume my normal apathetic life. I try to not repeat what I've done in the past, but I do hold grudges to some extent (if somebody really pisses me off beyond hope).

You're all beautiful people.

Don't let the past consume you.

edit: Beautiful people was a very flowery choice of language, but I'm gonna leave it there anyways. Point is: Your all ace, and you should all try not to worry and be happy.

and drink beer, obviously.

I normally just move on, sometimes stopping and dwelling on it for a smaller while. Of course you think about it every now and then, but its not really something that you'd put all your energy into bringing into attention once again.

Maybe not on really major stuff, but most other things.

oh jesus christ, will, because of you now i'll have to spend 10 more minutes sitting here ruminating on how flaws in my personality effect my outlook on life and how i interact with the rest of the world while i type this post! :yell:

thanks a lot :p

when someting sad or bad happens to me, I always "embrace" it for a while,
deal with it... I cry, I get mad, I feel like crap, but I only let myself feel this way for a couple of days.. then I just let it go.
100% let it go.
I never dwell on the past... I'm a very forgiving person, and I normally
would prefer to always keep myself away from negativity.
I forgive, but i don't forget.
compassion is power.

^ fuck christianity...

You can say its a very budhist thing to say either...
and a very jewish thing to say..
all religions believe in compassion...

I just believe in forgiving, thats all.
revenge is idiotic.
If it sounds religious... then so be it.
I'm far from being religious.... I just have some morals, 's all.

:)

compassion is just a part of human (and some animals, i think) nature that you can either use or ignore.

i hold grudges like a bitch, though. there's a lot of stuff i never let go of. i think it's a defense mechanism. i'll never be anything more than this or that thing that i fucked up, so i save myself from either the disappointment of failure or the pressure of success in anything new i try by not trying or not trying hard enough.

damn you guys, your deep and meaningful threads are making me make realize all these really shitty things about myself and share them with the world-wide web :p
