Early Opeth albums

I find if I discover a band through a new album it can be difficult to backtrack through their discography - whether it be the sound quality, dip in musicianship/songwriting or whatever. I discovered Opeth through Blackwater Park and I've had no problems at all getting into the albums before BWP.

TBH I think all of Opeth's albums are immense and are essential listening for anyone interested in the band.

I'd get Still Life and Morningrise (my favorite) first. Orchid and My Arms, Your Hearse are just as good but I'd get them after.

All of opeth's albums are masterpieces, you shouldn't don't care about which you buy first, because you won't be dissapointed no matter what! i promise
