Okay, so my friend recorded our first band this last week, his setup is a Presonus Firepod with a CAD 7 piece drum mic kit. We ran the cables straight from the mics in the live room, to the Firepod directly in the control room. We had a giant cable mess and seemed there may be another useful way to do this, i've not seen any other post explaining this.

Is there a way to record these 7 tracks onto an interface and cleaning it up a bit? Such as using a snake box or splitter or something of that sort? Seeing pictures of a friends studio and other ones while recording drums, they don't have a giant mess of cables, I see the mics (or triggers) running into the box, and the box running somewhere else.

Clarification?

A box that you speak of is generally PART of the studio... in a wall or something like that.

You can buy a snake if you'd like, but you're still going to have the mess of the original cables going TO the snake.

It's all up to you my friend.
