Great, I can buy a 1952 FENDER TELECASTER PICKGUARD for about the same price as a 1969 GIBSON LES PAUL CUSTOM.

...but (assuming it's legit) some of those old strats are worth $20k or more, so spending 3 grand on a pickgaurd to keep it at original specs is somewhat understandable

for that much cash tho...i'd be buying 20 used esp's

Yeah, but if you're spending 20 Grand on a classic guitar just to have one, you really need to have your head examined. That might be an unpopular opinion, but I'm sticking to it.

as i said, if i had an extra $20k to spend on guitars; i'd be sniping used esp's off e bay for a while

but if you've got that kinda cash to invest in a single guitar, more power to ya i guess
