eddie van halen vs randy rhoades

YEAH, CUZ ARPEGGIOS AND ARTIFICIAL HARMONICS ARE SO UNIQUE.

I'd have to go with EVH, simply because if it wasn't for him and Tony Iommi, I'd never listen to metal.

Being neither of them are metal guitarists, you still don't. Yes, at the time they weren't heavily used, and yes they are more unique than tapping. You seem a bit slow on this though. lol "Arpeggios", name dropping won't make it sound like you know your shit either. lol RAndy could and did right hand tap VH has never displayed the ability to play the above mentioned. Oh yes you listen to metal but I hate Arpeggios? Stop being a defensive cunt.

Also, if you don't think Tony Iommi is a metal guitarist, then you know about as much about metal as I know about speaking Cantonese.
I wasn't "name dropping" the word arpeggios, I actually know what they are. Granted, I don't have a PHD in music theory, but I know the basics, dickhead. And what are you laughing about? Is that how you convince yourself of your alleged "superior" musical knowledge? Another thing - how was I being defensive? I was ridiculing you for your pathetic attempt at slamming an extremely influential and talented player. Granted, since "Van Hagar", the band Van Halen has been completely irrelevant, yet EVH managed to influence a majority of the metal guitarists that have followed him (although, yes, it may be inaccurate to call EVH metal). There are a myriad of other points about your post that I could make that would prove that you are completely ignorant cocksucker, but I have better things to do.

Um power chords does not = metal sorry. I didn't attempt I did it just fine. And yes you're still being a defensive twat. Wah he found reasonable fault in my choice, wah. Shut up already.

What the fuck are you listening to? Power chords are common as dirt in metal music. And, if you had any sense of history, you would know that Tony Iommi virtually invented heavy metal.
Your delusions of grandeur do nothing to validate your complete ignorance of the evolution of metal over time. The fact of the matter is that EVH was more influential to metal than Rhodes.
Lastly, I'm not being defensive, I'm justifiably angry that a two-bit retard is trying to tell my why I don't know shit about fuck.

I don't think this is a truly fair comparison. After all, we only got to hear the beginning of Randy's talent before he was so tragically taken from us. If he was still alive, he probably would have surpassed EVH in style and content.

Eddie never played arpeggios? Sorry kids, it's on the first Van Halen album with "Ain't Talkin' 'Bout Love." The whole chord progression is arpeggiated.

(For those that don't have any music theory education, an arpeggio is simply a chord that is being played one note at a time - something that's been used in nearly all forms of music since it first started.)

Pretty funny coming from a guy with a black crackhead in his avatar.
But I gotta tell you, dude - if a "metal" band these days uses only power chords, then that band probably sucks.
P.S. Oh, go on right ahead and tell me about how I know nothing about metal...
