Hi there,

I have just recently come to love this brilliant concept album. The only thing that bothers me is that it consists of only one single, large track. Have you guys ever tried to divide it into ~10 tracks just to make it more easy to handle? A single 40 minute song can be a pita on a mobile cd player...

Here is my suggestion how to divide it:

start length
00:00 4:02
04:02 5:16
09:18 3:57
13:15 3:32
16:47 4:09
20:56 6:00
26:56 2:34
29:30 3:00
32:30 4:29
36:59 3:01

If you want to contribute by dividing the song on your own, please ignore my suggestion since I do not want you to get influenced by it.

Funny thing, I'd actually like to merge all the tracks on crimson II into one track. It's fucking useless for mp3 cds and ipod use...:(

Why don't you simply use Exact Audio Copy to create an image & cue from the CD? The result will be a huge .wav file (and a .cue which you can kick into the recycle bin).

Speaking of .cue files, I have created one for Crimson I in order to get 10 tracks from the original CD:
Code:
FILE "Crimson.wav" WAVE
PERFORMER "Edge Of Sanity"
TITLE "Crimson"
  TRACK 01 AUDIO
    INDEX 01 00:00:00
    TITLE "Part 01"
  TRACK 02 AUDIO
    INDEX 01 04:02:10
    TITLE "Part 02"
  TRACK 03 AUDIO
    INDEX 01 09:31:71
    TITLE "Part 03"
  TRACK 04 AUDIO
    INDEX 01 13:14:73
    TITLE "Part 04"
  TRACK 05 AUDIO
    INDEX 01 16:47:26
    TITLE "Part 05"
  TRACK 06 AUDIO
    INDEX 01 20:56:38
    TITLE "Part 06"
  TRACK 07 AUDIO
    INDEX 01 26:56:07
    TITLE "Part 07"
  TRACK 08 AUDIO
    INDEX 01 29:30:04
    TITLE "Part 08"
  TRACK 09 AUDIO
    INDEX 01 32:30:00
    TITLE "Part 09"
  TRACK 10 AUDIO
    INDEX 01 36:59:00
    TITLE "Part 10"

Fucking bad ass!

I think I will retire my original copy for the tracked version i just made.

thanks Fred304 for the cue.

EAC rules but I guess people get turned off by its speed or lack of.

You're welcome. Have you ever tried to divide the large track on your own before?

How can speed be more important than quality to people? You normally rip only once but listen many times to the rip.

or lack of.
Lack of what? Nothing? That's right :worship:

Or why not leave it the way its ment to be..
Why do you think Crimson II consists of 44 tracks if it's only one large song? I could imagine people have complained about Crimson I consisting only of one track without the possibility to jump through the record comfortably ;)

As soon as I get my copy of Crimson II (some ebay members are slooow...) I'll try to merge the 44 tracks into the 9 songs that are listed for Crimson II. :Spin:

what's crimson? I'm not up to date with this underground black metal stuff
 Imagine what Dan would think about that.

I found a program a while back called DBA Poweramp or something that would've been able to put Crimson II(I know some people don't like it, but I do) into one one track, and split up the first Crimson.
