Hands down, this will be the best album to come out this year (unless the new SymX happens to get released before years end). This is the ultimate bang your head, shake your fist, powermetal album. Anyone whos a metal head owe's themself to check this out.

The single was strong, but not exactly the kind of thing that would keep my interest very long. I'll try and pick this up as I LOVE Tobias Sammett, but I wouldn't go so far as to say it's album of the year...

that will definetly go to The Human Equation or Be :P

This album rocks. It's actually my first introduction to Edguy's stuff, so I'm a n00b. But I really like it a lot. Tobi Sammet is cool, I want to meet him at PP this year.

How can you be metal and not enjoy fist shaking? It's a characteristic of the lifestyle, man. :loco:

well ive never been an edguy fan or a powermetal fan at all but the one song matt sent so far i do think was very good, very passionate and well done and flawless vocals and instruments, so if anything is to get me into powermetal, it could be a good contender for the job.

btw, why would u dismiss something metal and potentially good to listen to merely coz u dont like 'shaking ur fist' .. thats the most pointless snobbery ive heard.

I have this cd and I say that it was great when I first heard it but is becoming a little boring the more I hear this one.
Album of the year right now is Into Eternity - Buried In Oblivion but will prob change after I hear the new cds by Ensiferum, Pain of Salvation, Evergrey,Winds and so on.

Into Eternity are a very talented band. Their music is original and unique. Anyway, just wanted to mention that they are looking for a bass player. If anybody is interested, contact the guys for an audition. I predict this band is going to do extremely well. Could be a fine opportunity for a good bass player.

Album of the year? LMFAO c'mon people, it's only March..

I love the King of Fools EP thingy..haven't heard Hellfire Club yet, but will be getting it, being a big Edguy fan.

Why does everyone like Into Eternity so much? I just don't get it i suppose... kind of boring the stuff i've heard, and the dude's clean vox arent' that good. oh well.

Musically talented CANADIANS !!
They're a very nice group of guys, too...trying hard to do something different and original within a diverse genre. I give them a lot of credit.

I LOVE the new Edguy album, been listening to it over and over since I got it.
Oh, and for the other topic being discussed here, Into Eternity kicks ass! Buried in Oblivion is an incredible album.

LOL You know I love this CD but album of the year?

Especially for someone like you who is missing out on alot of bands until someone like me brings them to your attention.

Like Jax said its only March, and besides IMO theres already a CD that tops Edguy.

Asperity - The Final Demand

Again I think Hellfire Club rules, but its early in the year, and theres a shitload of smokin releases lined up from Platitude, Anubis Gate, Pyramaze, Vision Divine, and so on.

Sadly, a lot of the new stuff sounds like the same ol progmetal..I'm getting burnt on the rush for new music when it's not actually very 'new' at all.

.....Like bands who are trying to sound like Symphony X

I agree. It takes a hell of a blast of talent to even get my attention when it comes to progressive rock/ prog metal. There's plenty of really good new music out there, but I've wasted some $$ on what I thought may be really good, only to quickly get shoved away. I alternate to keep from getting bored. Lately I'm on an early Kansas kick, pulling the old vinyl out.
