i haven't actually received it yet... just ordered it online, but our other violinist (i think she joined? none of us are really sure yet) has one, and i think it sounds fantastic as far as electrics go.

i think andrew bird has some sort of a pickup placed on his acoustic violin, and runs it through some effects/ampage sometimes- it sounds pretty cool and different. although i'm not sure; his may be a full-bodied electric violin? how were you originally playing- through a mic through the PA?

i was using a "pick up the world" (ha ha!) pickup running through effects, then a PA. it fedback a lot and was never loud enough. :-/
