they're better on dd.
actually, i'd like to have more electronics, but not at all in the vein of haven... i tend to like harder electronic music, and i think i'd like to hear less melodic keyboards on the records.

I like the electronics on both D.T. albums. They're not "cartoon-y" or "video game"-like, like Children of Bodom.

I like them both a lot, but I'm a little more partial to Haven's use of electronics...even though I consider DD a better album. I guess I just like the experimentation aspect, or something...

too much on Haven and just right on DD.

On Haven I felt it drowned out the guitars far too much and dominated the sound. DD they add just the right touch where they need to be and dont seem to be so prevalent. Though I have to admit Havens sound is the electronics, thats what really defines it. Though Haven is my least favorite DT album...

Sooo... how do you feel about the abundant use of keyboards in the last two DT albums?

imo, the use of keys, whether abundant or sparse, :) has always been tastefully done on all recordings where they've been employed. :)

i listen to a lot of electronic body music, ranging from bands with "harder depeche mode" sounds (diorama, echo image, manuskript, evil's toy, etc...) to bands with the kind of songs that are made instant club hits in countries like germany :) (vnv nation, l'ame immortelle, neuroticfish, apoptygma berzerk, re|work, neuroactive, etc...), to more bands with even harsher beats and vocals :)wumpscut:, cyborg attack, hocico, aslan faktion, etc...).

if you're familiar with the style you should have recognised at least a band or two by now. if you're not, you might want to check out the first on each list to get an idea.
generally speaking, i find it's not likely for ppl with an intense love for hard rock/metal bands to appreciate this genre, at least at first try. most of these bands do not use instruments, featuring just a singer (often equipped with a vocoder for voice distortion), someone programming the synths and another guy on a drum machine.
you might get an idea what i'm talking about if you think back at 80's disco music (the first hits by pet shop boys, for instance) and try to picture it much darker and heavier.

They electronics are done in a tasteful, elegant matter without over indulging in neither album. I am however, slighty bent towards haven ( in the electronics deparment ) but not enough to emit such vote.s

I don´t have to complain about keys but i do have to complain about the drums.. they should louder.. at least bassdrum..

@rahvin: i know i could be about to say one of the biggest idiocies in all world's history, but... does Aphex Twin belong to the kind of music you were talking about? ;)

Miolo (ignorant)

as much as i'm possibly - among the regulars here - the one who's more into electronics, i find it nonetheless astonishing that the options against keyboards haven't got a single vote yet.

i think the band ought to take a long hard look at the results of this poll.
