Emperor in Chicago tomorrow

Anyone going to the Emperor show in Chicago tomorrow? I'm in town and am thinking whether or not to attend...

It's $50 a ticket. I'm thinking about it, but I'm not sure as of yet.

I went back and forth on this one.
I am passing.
I used to be into Emperor a bit, but for some reason, most black metal has not held up over time for me.

Also, as Paul had said, the ticket price does not make the gig too attractive, given my limited interest.

At that price, they should have at least brought another more well known band on tour with them.

Please post a review though. Have a good time.

I saw them a couple of times back in the late 90s, and paid half as much at the time. They're a band I enjoy listening to on disc but never was too taken with them in the live setting. To be honest, there's not much Black Metal that I do enjoy in the live setting. So much is lost in the live mix, and god forbid the show be in a club with poor acoustics. I'll just stay home and listen to the cds lol

You sure you are thinking of the right band Larry?
The black metal EMPEROR did not even form until 1991.
I think their first run through the states was around 1998, and then a short tour in 99 with Borknagar.

Oops, it was a typo, I meant late '90s. Approximately 1998, 1999, if I recall. Saw 'em at Metalfest once and at the Congress with Borknagar.
