Great band - really like "The Glorious Sickness". Had it in my car cd player for weeks when it first came out. Still listen to it quite frequently. I picked up "And The Rest Is Silence" too. Simone Mularoni is an awesome guitarist - I love his work with DGM as well.

Simone started to play guitar at 18-19 years old....and after 3-4 years knew how to play all the Michael Romeo's solos....he's an awesome guitarist and also a very good producer.
The bass is played by the Modern Age Slavery's guitarist.

Kick was Audix I suppose, 57's on snare as usual and some oh mics....nothing special I think. New cymbals and a good drummer is the trick ;)
2 ambience mics (you can see them through the glass) in central position (panned left and right).
And some selfmade samples

Sincerelly I don't know :) I know he usually start with the natural drums and he try to get the best sound out of it and after that he begin to add samples and mix them....the usual procedure. Nothing special

Some more Simone (with DGM - his other band):

I was just looking at the DGM MySpace page and noticed that DGM and Empyrios went on tour with each other this year - Simone must have had a busy night opening with one, then playing the headlining spot in the other. That's a busy man.

And yet more Simone Mularoni:

hi there! glad you like all the stuff! by the way... the first album was only a "good demo" that came out as a cd... check out the websites/myspace coz we're writing the new stuff!

and... the drums was if i'm not wrong: a shure beta91 for the kick, beta 58 for top snare drum and akg 414 (silver) for bottom. 421s for toms, akg 451 for cymbals 2 neumann tlm103 for ambience... pretty standard stuff! and in mixing i completely replaced kick with 2 samples (no good choice only the beta91... I'm using now with audix D6 everytime) and the snare/toms are a mix with natural stuff and samples!

for DGM last album is more acoustic... kick and snare samples added and natural tom! with the same mic setup except for the shire 57 for ride cymbal!

yeah!

Hello Simo - really looking forward to new stuff from both Empyrios and DGM. Great that you are stopping by.

Nice one dude! Thanks for the info, sounds very nice indeed!

I like the hugeness it has and the "power". I expect that to be in relation to the low end somehow. Any info on the bass? Bit of Sansamp in there perhaps?
