i actually like dude's impulses better than mic'ing my 1960a now, haha.
ts-9 > fx-send to interface > voxengo AFImpulse with one of GH's new LOUD impulses.
drums are addictive drums which rooocks.
Hey CJ where can I get guitarhacks impulses?
The default settings are REALLY processed, but sounds decent straight out of the box.
Now, I've always wondered how you other people seem to get the FX loop output sounding so natural with impulses. I always get this:
http://koti.mbnet.fi/juhau/zto.mp3
Even with a LPF @ 12 kHz it's tinny and buzzy as hell (nevermind the completely out of tune guitarjust did a quick test)
Lineage: guitar -> Powerball -> FX out -> Behringer MX602A -> M-Audio Audiophile
Plugs: SIR with BBAC-Half.wav from GuitarHack's impulses, L2 with Thresh at 0.0 dB and level at -0.2 dB and some mild multiband compression from 3.2 kHz on.
Uhm..it seems like SIR is turned off (it sounds like a simple pre track w/o cab impulse)... try to turn on and off SIR and listen if the sound of your track changes.
If it doesn't change...you have a problem with sir.
See where the fader where it says "DRY"?
Turn that bastard all the way down!
SIR is on. Without it, the sound is a whole lot more piercing.
Edit:
Here's two clips:
http://koti.mbnet.fi/juhau/no-SIR.mp3
http://koti.mbnet.fi/juhau/with-SIR.mp3
The only processing is L2 on the master channel (0.0 dB threshold, -0.2 dB level). The SIR impulse is GH's BBAC-Half.wav
Edit2:
Oh whoops. I forgot that by default SIR plays both the Dry and Wet signal almost equallyNow it sounds more like it with Dry signal off

@cjwall
haha, thanks everyone!!
important question: while reamping, do you stay in stand by mode? is there a need to put a cab on the amp, while doing that. the thing is i want to reamp in my living room and don't to carry the fat box from the rehearsel room. but amps can end up in smoke, if you don't have any cab attached to it. i was wondering if it's ok if you leave the amp in standby without a cab attached.
Question guys: Can I leave my 6505+ in standby while doing this as well? I'm using the preamp out by the way. Would that have any weird effect on the tone controls? Would it work? I want to be able to record late at night. If I do this, would raising the master volume have any effect at all? Or would it be the same all around?
