Thought I'd share a recent mix and master of mine for a local hardcore/metal band, King Conquer:

http://www.sneapforum.celtiaproductions.co.uk/cjwall/King Conquer - Seige MASTER MP3.mp3

All tracked in bedroom(s) by a buddy of mine through an Onyx board.

The usual suspects on everything, 57's galore basically.

I re-amped the guitars and bass through my TS-9 > ENGL Fireball > 1960a > Single 57 > M-Audio interface (the FF800 is off for repair!!)

This stuff was only double tracked so as a result I struggled a bit trying to make the guitars 'fill' the mix up.

Check the band out at: http://www.myspace.com/kingconquer

Dig it doggies!

sounds good for a buntch of 57's
why dont 57's ever sound good in my studio =(

Sounds great man. Did you use 57s for ohs/cymbals because they sound really good.

Thanks dude!

That's really a huge compliment because I always, always struggle with OH's...

...and overheads are always a bitch when dealing with this particular dudes mics/room(totally untreated cube bedroom)/whatever (remember, I didn't track this).

I know he uses some cheap Audix SDC's for OH's, but that's all I know, really.

I'll ask him, because now I'm curious, haha.

yeah i really like it

wish i could make sound like that)... hehe
steven slate drums?

maybe you can show some pics of guitar mic placement?

the snare is one or two snares from steven slate mixed together if I remember correctly..

Sweet stuff!

The ENGL seems to fit in perfect in this style of music, and goes along fine with rest of the instruments... good job!
