I know Necrophagist used the Rackhead 860 for Epitaph and everything before and they get a killer tone! Not sure of the difference... Any way you can try it out before hand? If not, I'm positive you could get your money back on eBay....

hmm. for studio use? cause 35 watt is not much ...

Last year I sold my Rackhead 860.
It's a great and versatile amp (although I only used it's lead-channel). In my oppinion it's not very Engl'esque. It's a pure rock-amp. It's not as clean and sterile like the fireball for example.
I really loved it's sound. I just wanted to go for something else.

yeah, of course..., but even 450 is a good price. 35watt should be perfect for only recording use..., I dont need more

for studio use you could save 100€ by buying a e530 used. that is, if you already have a power amp. if you want to record with impulses you can use the e530 on its own.

It's 2 x 35 though, that's going to be pretty fucking loud.... two 35 watt power sections is louder than one 70 watt power section which is barely any quieter than a 100 watt amp...
