Hello guys,
I'm in a process of mixing a modern but not-so-fast-tempowise thrash metal album. Here is a mix, what do you think ?
No toms, no vocals, and leads/solos aren't EQed at tall, I just raised the fader and put a little verb on it, so don't mind all this for the moment.
There are also some mistriggers here and there.
What I can say about it :
Guitars were EC-1000 => Engl Savage 120 => Marshall 1960A cab => SM57
Bass is a DI + guitar POD distorsion
The drums are a little too plastic sounding. I like the snare but I need to improve it (I plan to use a more dynamic triggering and get the low end of it a bit tighter). Kick doesn't sound good, I will change it.
I tracked drums using a pair of room mics, you can hear a slight room behind the proximity mics, but couldn't use more of it because the guitars are very mid heavy.
I think it's cool for the moment, I just want to change the drums for a more natural sound.
