I should have PMd you before the show. We were sitting in the second row, stage right.
Enslaved owned by the way. Great to watch opening bands pound away at their set and then see the real deal come on and blow them completely out of the water.

i was supposed to be at mellotronen's festival, but i couldnt get enough time off work in the long run, so i regretfully say i cannot attend. im actually very very upset about it...

saw the show in Tempe AZ last night.
my first time seeing Enslaved (like many in the States) and they certainly did not disappoint, except that they only played for an hour. not enough for their 15 years of material.
regardless, a tight, energetic performance - sounded much like the albums except the keyboards were a bit low so I couldn't hear the organ during the Ruun stuff.
mostly tracks from Isa and Ruun, with a surprise track from Monumension but sadly nothing from Below the Lights.
when they ripped into old stuff from Frost and Hordane's Land, it was like a completely different band had taken the stage. made Dark Funeral seem simplistic and boring by comparison (which, to these ears, they kinda are).
simple but effective psychedelic visualizations on the screen behind the band added to the mystique.
the fact that these guys win Grammys in their home country not only says a lot about their talent (which we already know), but also that awards are worth a damn in Norway.
