Enslaved on South Park

what is the actual problem you guys have with Below the Lights and Isa?
sounds like good death 'n roll to me ... or is that the problem?

listen to Eld and Vikingligr Veldi, and then listen to those two shoulda-been-abortions and you'll see what the problem is.

There was this other episode (which I haven't seen, but reputedly) that Stan goes goth and wears a Nevermore - Politics of Ecstacy T-Shirt.

:err:

Half-truth...

It's blurry, but you get the idea.

Also, I think that's a picture of Edgar Allen Poe and it's quoting the phrase "Quoth the raven: Nevermore." Or something like that.

I have her porno, if you want a copy of a Lesson in Terrible Blowjobs, let me know.

Below the Lights is a fucking incredible album, kudos to a black metal band not afraid to evolve into something interesting instead of remaining with their lackluster-except-in-some-strange-1991-worship universe.

I agree -- Below the Lights is outstanding. "Queen of the Night" and especially "As Fire Swept Clean the Earth" are some of the best songs they've done.

And to be fair, they have evolved more than any other 'BM' band since their first release. I could never accuse Enslaved of being stagnant.

Enslaved on South Park is 100% a kickass idea. There is nothing bad about it in fact. Im extremely excited. Plus you get to say to your friends "DOOD I KNOW THIS BAND BLAHBLAHBLAH THEY RULESGHZGZZ YESSSS I KNOW ABOUT STUFF YOU DON"T KNOW ABOUT HAHAHA PWNTZORD!!!11one"

Oh the irony! :p

Monumension is the best of prog Enslaved, IMO.

First 4 Enslaved albums plus split with Emperor>>>>>>>>>>>>>last four Enslaved albums

Yeah, I can't call them stagnant. I've got to be honest, they evolved. However that evolution was not wanted or needed. More honesty there.

Agreed, after letting Isa sink in it's still my favorite of the recent Enslaved albums, partly because The Crossing and The Dead Stare rule so much. And of course they deserve maximum respect for continuing to experiment and tweak their sound on each album, even if Isa doesn't have any real innovation beyond the greater emphasis on clean vocals, but it still avoids sounding like a copy of BTE (or any of the others) and the riffs are still unruly.

You are correct.
