I've listened to the Painter's Palette about 6 times today, and I can feel the addiction slowly slipping in. Anyhow, they are very reminscient of a group I listened to many years ago, which I would label experimental death metal jazz weird crap. Nuclear Rabbit broke up some time ago before ever receiving any sort of commercial success, but I just found out that they reformed earlier this year and plan on rereleasing their catalogue sometime soon (2 full lengths and an EP I believe). Definitely worth checking out, some of the more bizarre stuff out there.

By the way, their singer is the most talented vocalist since Mike Patton, and THANKFULLY he joined their reunion. Their musicianship is outstanding, and apparently the bassist is up to 9-strings now.

Doesn't look like they have any MP3s up right now, but I will keep anyone who is interested posted. :tickled:

Tell me about it. One year ago, I would have laughed at this shit. Now I want it on all the time. It's so demented.

Interesting. With a name like Nuclear Rabbit, they've got to be from Deutschland right?! Call them up for an interview and tell the world who was doing this stuff first (and way before 'Duath!). Actually, contact ED too if you like. :)

Doesn't the bass player of Fugazi use a 12 string bass? I couldn't believe it when I saw it.

That's SO unnecessary. What can 12 strings do that 4 can't? I mean, really!
You sound like me. I'll run circles around anyone with my 20-fret 4 string any day of the week. :) Although the only 12-string basses I have seen (or even heard of) are just 4-strings with two octave strings next to each "original" string. Those trippy sounds on Pearl Jam's Jeremy are created by one of those.

The guy from Nuclear Rabbit uses a bass with 9 actual strings though (not octaves), he's all over the place.

I was going to contact the band later this week, wanted to see any feedback here first. :)
