Epica split with drummer

Oh nooooooooooooo :(
Atleast we saw the original lineup then. I wish the best for the musicians in that band!!

Yeah I actually saw the last show they played here in Hollywood on Wednesday, and now that I think about it maybe the amount of stuff he threw into the audience meant something, lol. He was throwing stuff other than sticks, carrying cases for sticks and a ton of other stuff, maybe he doesn't want be a drummer anymore?

Thats weird!! I was hanging out with him and the rest of the guys from Kamelot after the show last sunday and he was asking Youngblood if he needed a drummer for his solo side project record thing? Strange....

Bear

That sucks.

He's really good. He should have no trouble finding something else. Once you get past the eye candy (Simone), he was the most interesting member of Epica.

I have other suspicions about why he left but I'm going to keep any speculation under my hat.

Anyone think this is the end of the band?

Label troubles.
Drummer leaves.
Next, Simone will join Nightwish and that'll be the end of them.

Obviously the last piece is pure speculation, but this could be the beginning of the end, don't you think?

I really think they're going to be just fine, this obviously has been in the works for a while, I doubt he could be under a ton of stress 4 days after the tour ends, it's probably something else.

No, it's normal, I don't think EPICA will break up. They're all young, and the band is taking off right now.

LOL, Simone will NOT join Nightwish, she doesn't have the voice for Nightwish. She's not that experienced or that AMAZING as the one and only Tarja. I think this is obvious. But that could have been sarcasm from you. I don't mean it in a way to degrade her, because she's a great singer, but I honestly don't think she has what it takes to replace Tarja, she would not be able to pull off any OLD Nightwish live, atleast. And I think she's not the only singer in the world. Well known, big bands don't NEED to take singers from bands already established. I don't understand why everyone always assumed Tuomas would choose Shanon den Andel or Simone, or even Liv Kristine.

I agree, but Nightwish don't really play any old stuff anyway, Tuomas said they might even drop the Wishmaster stuff on their new tour. :(

I was half serious, half kidding. She doesn't have Tarja's voice, that's for sure. But I don't see Nightwish going in the same direction as before, I see them taking a more aggressive approach, ala Epica/After Forever.

I just think you hate Simone b/c of your "prior experiences" :D

Damn, sad news, Richard Christy played his last show with iced earth in hollywood too..... :err:

Not to try to feed the rumor mill, but i was watching the kamelot and epica soundchecks at the seattle show earlier this month. Before the sound check, everyone was warming up and the drummer just flipped out and stormed out of the venue after yelling at everyone in the band. Then he was outside talking to the tour manager and Casey Grillo saying something to the effect of "I've never been treated this poorly ever" in regards to him trying to soundcheck and no one would stop playing for him to do so. It sounded like a somewhat unreasonable reaction, but in hindsight i'm sure it was one of those "straws that broke the camel's back" sort of things.

Either way, i'm sure they will find another talented drummer.
