EQ on master bus

So basically you're saying that if you're working in a multimillion dollar room and you know your shit then it's ok to use eq on the 2 bus? But otherwise you shouldn't use it?

Not being sarcastic, just it's not clear since you didn't really finish that last sentence.

basically unless your room is treated, its better to leave off the eq (imo) on the master the room has too much to do with the eq adjustments compensating bad acoustics

Taking into account what you've said, why would eq'ing the master be a bad thing, and eq'ing single tracks not be? Surely the bad acoustics problem isn't only when you're applying a global eq?

apples to oranges

in live, we used global eq to compensate for the room, in the studio that has quite the opposite effect...

closest i can say from experience (ive only mixed 1 song outside of a professionally designed room)

i mixed a live track the first day i got my room with no treatment. remixed the track when i completed the studio design drywall/703, then remixed that track once i had the final acoustic treatment with changes being made to a mix i was already very pleased with on the other 2 mixes.. mixes carry room to room and what someone thinks is good in a room doesnt mean its going to sound good in the next.....

im looking forward to hearing my mixes pumped over the mains in a few weeks when i get to the big studio again, its been forever outside on my little room.... ill prob want to change every mix im happy with in some way shape or form there.... different rooms me give a whole different outlook on a mix.... just need to concentrate on the 10 i have to do, im extremely hypercritical of anything over demo quality...
