I think the setup was awesome too, a lot of the balls passed to other players found soembody capable. The 'click' was there. Extraordinary performance tonight. This quality is rare

Deffinately..

The thing was that here in Holland everybody (also including me) had doubts about the defense of Holland. They weren't "strong enough", didn't have the qualities they should have.. But they seriously showed yesterday that they actually CAN play at this high level, and don't deserve these critiques.

It was really nice to see that after 4 years everything is finally on it's place. After all the puzzles van Basten tried, it was good to see that puzzle finally be completed.

Also a big thumbs up to Engelaar. A player who plays at Twente, not a bad team, but not the best there can be, and he performs amazing on the pitch.

The best thing even was, that in preperation 2 of the players that you normally would put in the start formation (Robben & van Persie) we're injured (that wasn't the best thing offcourse), but that Kuyt did such a good job on the right side that I don't think he should be replaced by one of those player.

Bouhlarouz, just having played 6 partial matches I was amazed on his playing. Every individual player played for the the team..it was good to see...

There's always one relatively unknown player out of every tournament who ends up going for a massive transfer fee to a bigger club. In England they call it "tournament goggles", where one player has a couple of brilliant games and then ends up going to another club in England, Spain or Italy for at least €10 million before the end of the tournament.

Within ten minutes of game last night my vote went to Engelaar to be that player (who had a cracking game).
