EV PL80a -- Anyone have experience with it?

Hey everyone,

Been really tempted to get the 3 pack of EV PL80as Musician's Friend has for $150 -- Alas, Tyranny has 3 vocalists (me, backup, female), so this is a perfect match. Anyone have any reviews or experience with it? This'll mainly be for live/rehearsal use.

Never used them before unfortunately. Another option would be getting used SM58s; I've seen people selling 3 or 4 at a time on Craigslist quite a few times.

Eh, I'm not a big fan of the SM58 for vocals, especially live. I've found that hypercardioids work MUCH better especially for feedback rejection and clarity in general. Thanks though!

I got the 3 pack for Christmas, and was able to test it out at practice. Katie wasn't there, so I don't know if it works better for her, but for me it worked extremely well. Much more clarity and gain before feedback than the Shure SM58s we were using previously.
