Evans snare head comparison.

Figured you guys would be into this, a comparison of Evans snare heads, seems to cover the entire range except for the genera dry (my current go to) though he has done the ST dry and HD dry.




What did you guys like? I really liked the hybrid (that price though, ouch! :-O) After that it was a toss up between the genera, genera HD, and genera HD dry.

Great idea, and very useful content but every head is tuned to a different pitch (despite what he says at the start), which makes it nigh-on impossible to make an educated comparison. They're all cranked really tight too, which doesn't tell me much about how they'll perform at a mid or low tuning - the Hybrid for example, sounds like a cardboard box if it's tuned lower. Having experimented with much of the range, the Heavyweight is my go-to since it has a very balanced set of overtones, great body, and can stand serious abuse.
