I wonder why there are so few Asian metal bands. Only ones I can think of are Ritual Carnage, Sigh, and Death Angel.

I think ther are some resons:
1.Asian people "were" so conservative!
They couldnt accept such a crazy music just like metal before!
2.Although I'm an Asian ,too, I must say that maybe we dont have the scene to learn music! Due to culture differences, Asian peple starting to learn music or "art" will be late! Most and most parents here always want their children to study to make money!
So fewer people could learn music or art well! We are not so much skillful!
3.Western people are stronger than Asian people on average!
We dont have so much energy to play metal, especially there are seldom metal drummer ( I mean great drummer, blast double bass over 200; they cant not last in a long time!)
4.Asian people cant speak Eng fluently, hahah! vital point!!

So, if Asian play metal, they play some simple, or so-called
progressive, or so-called symphonic, gothic shit (I dont mean this kinda music is shit),some of them just dont have the abilities to play complex rhythm, or fast things!!
However we are getting more & more metal senses nowaday. I believe that Asian metal bands will be getting stronger than ever!!
If u guys dont understand what I'm talking about, sorry for my poor Eng :p

I would be interested to see the outcome if the same Asian stereotypes applied to metal. Japanese death metal songs that were really short, and twice as fast and complex as the american death bands.

really??
Wow, i would like to listen to Japanese bands!
IMO, Japanese always try to do their best to work! And they are happy to accept and aprreciate foreign culture, then inmitate or learn!
therefore, I am not surprised if their music r xtremely fast or complex...
but still curious that their music compare to the mighty Nile??
Nile is so amazing!! tight, strong, complex, fast, conceptual!!
