EvilDarknessTour (Lullacry,Leaves eyes, Elis, Kamalot)

Unless these guys don't know smaller venues, they may just want to use the pit area of these arenas, I don't know who in the HELL could possibly headline this tour. I hope Nightwish and Lacuna Coil join, as well as epica and within temptation. But why are leave's eyes one of the headliners when they're trying to get the other bands I just mentioned? I hope they know what they're doing. Unless Maiden is headlining someone's gonna be losing some money..

Maiden is not headlining, that's guaranteed. Nightwish won't be doing it either, since they already announced they'll be away from the stages for 18 months.. which would bring them back around april/may 2007. Lacuna Coil is big enough to headline a tour, I don't know about a festival. Leave's Eyes in my book can't get any bigger than an opener.

Even if Within Temptation, and...let's say Lacuna Coil are headliners with Leave's Eyes (which doesn't make much sense), they are BARELY gonna hit a few thousand people every show... imagine filling up those arenas...

And I don't mean to cut down your hopes, but I don't think they know what they're doing.... LMAO... As Glenn said, I am also in awe of the balls of the promoter...

We'll see what happens...i'll be attending either way

It could also be that the promoter is hearing so much good crap from the few people he's in contact with, he's assuming everyone is thinking in the same way and it'll sell out.

Third, the venues are fucking arenas!

I love a lot of the bands that have either been confirmed or rumored, but add my voice to the chorus - the promoters need to seriously rethink this project as something smaller in scope. Also, a name change would be good. "Evil Darkness" sounds like what a metal festival parody on SNL would be called (and modern day SNL at that).

I would love to see this tour materialize.

However, as a New Yorker, there is NO WAY IN HELL they're going to even come close to selling out Madison Square Garden.

They should play THE THEATER @ MSG...holds 4500. That *may* sell out.

yeah i was going to suggest that too...

Something else I'd like to add - the promoter apparently thinks that "more is better," but if I went to this show, I'd be wore out by the time the headliners hit the stage. OK, so that might just be a complaint that I am getting too creaky, but I'd hate for my chance to see a lot of these bands live cut down to, what, 15 minutes a shot? How else could it happen? There are what, 12 acts on the bill?

That being said, I wish these guys luck. They are trying to bring several bands that I like to states, but it just seems a bit...overambitious at this point.

This whole thing strikes me as being done by kids who get all full of enthusiasm ("Yeah. We could make ED2006 hacky-sacks!") and fail to acknowledge the realities.

They should rename it to Evil Dead 2006. It would be taken about as seriously.

Of course I know Maiden isn't headlining, but that would be the only way to sell out those arenas! I am totally not fond of this tour name either.

The only thing I can think of is possibly mad, crazy advertising. If they were to post flyers on every street corner and have a radio ad every 5 seconds, they ought to be able to accomplish what they set out to do. Of course, if you pay attention to the fine print, few of those venues are actually CONFIRMED so it is entirely possible that they will get shot down there.
