a friends studio actually own the EWQL Symphonic Strings version, and I think it rocks!! We went there and made some strings for our band. Here's a clip for ya:

demo'd it... the quality of the samples is pretty great in my opinion, though i wish it had more configuration options, like a badass full orchestra sound (the macro string section is nice, but i'd have to load most of the samples to get a full orchestra sound, and that kills my memory)

it's fairly realistic in that i was writing for a low register part, and had to give some of the melody to a second instrument set because i had gone out of the playable range of the first set. (violin to cello).

in the end I used several sets at a time, bounced them to audio to save processing power, and worked with another set. powerful tool. perhaps too powerful for my current setup.
