stupid question ...

I have a text document of about 24K email addresses separated by commas and want to open it in excel ... so they all show up in one column which I can then sort and eliminate duplicates.

is there some trick to it? ... i tried to open it as a comma delimited file but all it does is open them in the 1st row ... one email address per column ... BUT it cannot open all.

this is how comma separated values (.csv) files should work - columns delimited by commas and rows by newlines

the simple solution is probably to open the text file in a text editor/msword and do a search/replace that replaces all commas with newlines, and then try opening it as a csv in excel again
