Hey all,

I'm new to this forum, hoping to find some good tips & tricks on producing metal, as I'm hoping to be working in a professional environment in the future, although I'm not totally sure what role precisely, especially as the producer/engineer roles have somewhat homogenized over the decades.

Anyway, here's a track I've revisited a couple of times as I've learnt new techniques. Drums were recorded last year and guitars are just through a GR3 setup using Recabinet impulses. I've used Metal Foundry to reinforce the kick drum and I replaced the toms entirely. Mixed and mastered (I use that term loosely) in Logic 8.

From a compositional view it's got some Lamb of God, Killswitch Engage and Meshuggah influences. Beware the song starts quite abruptly so don't have your speakers or headphones too loud in case you jump. But don't worry, I haven't brickwall limited it, I wanted to keep some dynamic range where possible.

Any feedback would be much appreciated. :)
