Can't believe what's happening in London :(

I Hope everyone is ok!

I'm hearing some crazy things(wether they are completely true not sure), a sniper shooting down a suicide bomber in Canary Warf, diffusing a bomb near the Home Office, people still trapped in trains and they seem to feel there's a possibility of more explosions.

Al-Qaeda have supposedly claimed responsibility and was to coincide with the G8 Summit.

Hey Lee I know you work in the city, hope things are ok.

Very sad day...

Killed 33? Last I heard it was 2... Man this is a huge mess...

Luckily everyone I know who lives and works down there is ok/should have been way out of harms way.

Lets be thankfull its not any worse, many other countries have seen far bigger terrorist attacks...

Yeah that's true!

I dunno about thirty three deaths....are you sure??

There were definitely a lot of people injured though, particularly in the Liverpool Street and King's Cross attacks...upwards of 200 I heard for everything.

Definitely a sad day for the country. In a macabre way the terrorists couldn't hav timed it better, given that we got the Olympics the day before, as well as the obvious G8 summit.

Is it just me, or does this remind anyone of the lyrics of Empires?

Its a sad day indeed.
I think the emergency services did a wonderful job and helped no end! It could have been a lot worse without them! Look at Madrid a year ago, i thhink 191 were killed in train bombings.

I'm glad they have decided to continue with the G8 summit though. I think its a preverbial raised middle finger to the terrorists responsible. As Tony Blair said, they wont stop us living our lives the way we wish to.
The English spirit seems to be carrying through and people were trying to carry on as normal. :) Thats a good thing.
Something similar happened in 1984 i believe, when the IRA bombed the hotel in Brighton, trying to kill the members of the cabinet!
Margaret Thatcher walked out of the reackage without a hair out of place and totaly calmly spoke to a tv crew. She turned up for the planned meeting the next day as well. She was indeed the iron lady! :)

I believe that this will do little more than stiffen our resolve to fight world terror organisations. I only hope that it doesnt draw money away from the causes that the G8 are discussing!

Ok rant over. Sorry

Hope all the Biomech boys are ok!

True, especially after such a great jubilation when London found out it got the Olympics...

I too hope everyone gets to hear from their loved ones, friends and family safely.

I know one person that missed that particular bus, but as far as I know all the people I know are safe and well.

It has been a long time since I have watched so much TV as today. I too saw the picture from the Brighton incident in the 80s, I remember it quite clearly. I think it was Norman Tebbit that was seen coming out on the stretcher covered in rubble and dust, I think his wife was less lucky.

All we can do is carry on, you cannot let these people get the upper hand and dictate how we live our lives.

Respect to the Emergency Services and the people that kept their heads whilst suffering their ordeal.

I think theyve set the example the rest of the nation must follow, we have to keep going like normal, we have to show the terrorists that we wont be beaten down and that the only way their tactics can win is by killing every single one of us individually.

Stiff upper lip boys and girls!

Has anybody else noticed how different it feels when something like this happens on your doorstep? I felt so sick with worry yesterday at work for all the people I know in London.

Its also wierd that we can't really do anything about it, short of 'Declaring war on terror!', which is really not possible - we just have to carry on and wait till it happens again

So, in the mean time, I think its best if I start looking for a rehersal studio in Bognor Regis - just to be on the safe side ;)

These fearmongers have no regard for anything or anyone and I am glad the people of London have shown as little regard for their tactics, as the former have, for human life.

As far as I am concerned the perpetrators have relinquished all rights to their humanity with their actions, while London has shown her grace and courage.

These Al Quaeda bastards are getting lazy. Though it's probably Jacques Chirac being pissed off about the Olympic bid.

Funnily enough, I was contemplating going into London, and there's a good chance that I would have been on the Aldgate train. I'm just too cunning for these towelhead cunts.

Fortunately I didn't have any close encounters with death and nor did any of my family or close friends as far as I know, but there were a lot of people in the sixth form centre crowding round the payphone that morning at break trying to phone their parents to see if they were ok. It was certainly quite a shock when I heard about it.

I'm glad evreryone's ok :)

Birmingham was on high alert last night and they evacuated loads of people.
Scary stuff!
