Amazing fucking album (on my first listen today anyway), this already is a close tie with Scar Symmetry for shred album of the year (with the exception of the awful attempts at funk, punk, and ballads - but Extreme was always guilty of these.)

I'm not really into the sparseness of the production, but it's a really great showcase for some serious shredding from Nuno regardless!

EDIT - on second listen I am realizing that it's all about the first three songs, and beyond that I am wanting to fast forward to the solos, or even outright skip a lot of it. Oh well... Scar Symmetry definitely has these guys beat in the quality songs department, and the consistency of shred department as well. I guess this is why I quickly adopted melodic deathmtal in favor of 80s metal when I first started playing...

Just saw them 2 nights ago. Nuno is the shit live. I took some vid... Ill post it here eventuallllllly.

I'm really glad for the Extreme reunion! :notworthy

I've heard the new album a couple of times...I'm not really into it, I was expecting something more Pornograffiti-style...

BTW...I can't wait to see Nuno live!!

Never really took the time to listen closely to this band, despite their "legendary" status.

Checking the last effort on their Myspace page now. The first song has a Soundgarden vibe i find... especially the vocals and the riffing.

great band always liked them....the new one sounds alittle like audioslave in some parts:goggly: but nuno still rips
