Hey Dudes,
since yesterday Facebook updatet a new "feature" which allows people to look:
when and where you're logged in.
Even the precise adress is visible.

To avoid this:
Go to account->Account settings->Notifications->Places, remove the two checks.

Greetz

But "notifications" is just for emails from FB to your e-mail account, right? Seems logical to go to privacy settings if someone could look into my info that way.

Just saying, I don't really know shit about FB

Yeah I think this just deactivates the messenge you get when someone marks you at a place etc. The actual function is still active then.
But I can't find how to deactivate it, my iPhone says "Places is not yet available in your region".. so I guess in Germany the "places" thing does not exist. yet.

To turn off the actual app "places":
Account -> Privacy Settings -> (custom) Customize Settings -> Places I check in to -> Custom Edit -> Only Me

and also on the same page: "friends can check me in to places -> deactivate" (If you don't like it)

Its in Privacy settings. Go to sharing on facebook and select customize settings.

With all this new technology making it so easy to track anyone down almost anytime, any search on my name only gets you information of my band. All personal information on me is kept extremely classified and I would like to keep it that way.

I managed it to keep my real name completely clear of any google results
What scares me, though: If you google my nickname, the only person you'll find results to is... me. Shit. Unique name is shit for privacy. :yuk:

on the privacy settings page:

Get the Facts about Places
There is a false rumor that Facebook shares your location without your knowledge or consent.

You control your information on Facebook. With Places, you choose when to share your location by checking in or allowing friends to check you in. Your location is never given to anyone automatically.
