Harvey Goldsmith Presentis a new observational documentary series for Channel 4.

Harvey Goldsmith’s talent for promotion is almost legendary. For the last thirty five years he’s championed live entertainment for mass audiences around the world, promoting everyone from the Rolling Stones to Luciano Pavarotti, countless live spectaculars like Lord of the Dance and Cirque de Soleil, and of course Live Aid and Live 8.

In Harvey Goldsmith Presents… each week Harvey brings his considerable talents to bear on a performing artist or live entertainment company with a view to turning around their fortunes. These may be talented performers whose careers have stalled, or organisations whose energies and ambition lack focus and direction. Over a six month period Harvey’s aim is to make them a success, by whatever means necessary. Each programme builds to a major live event. Will Harvey pull it off? We’ll see…

***** Each programme will be followed by a ‘switchover’ show on E4, in which Harvey and the performers are joined by a specially invited audience to discuss the events we’ve just seen. This half hour studio show gives everyone a chance to air their views, to reveal the issues behind the decisions they came to and to gain a valuable insight into some fascinating and diverse areas of showbusiness, in this case the world of the music industry and Heavy Metal.

There may also be a live performance or performances with an audience vote. But what we’re mostly after are frank opinions and vigorous debate. Which is where you come in...

On 19th March we’re recording a show about SAXON. We want to know whether you think they stand a chance making it in the industry today? Are they right to try and break into a new industry? Should they change their image? Are they stubborn for not wanting to change? Should they follow new music trends? are they too old school for the UK market today? Why doesnt the UK take notice of them as opposed to germany where they are huge etc etc

You’ll be shown a sneak preview of the documentary, after which you can decide whether Harvey Goldsmiths tactics were right. Then after a short break we’ll record the show, which should take no more than an hour.
