REVIEW

This Stuttgart quintet consists of Matthias Sayer [vocals], Alex Schlopp [guitar], Dennis Hummel [keyboards], Till Hartmann [drums] and Toni Leva [bass]. They already have an impressive discography with this being their fourth release – Countrified [1995], Till the Cow Comes Home [1996] and The World is Ours [2000].

This album has an unusual sound that juxtaposes between different musical tastes and genres, hence one cannot classify this as a true metal album. Their sound is a complex mixture of British pop music - borrowing the catchy lyrics from DURAN DURAN, impersonating the diamond attitude of OASIS and the momentary stirs of melancholy courtesy of RADIOHEAD all encrusted within the form of traditional rock. Do not mistake this for a nu-metal album as this band has a lot more depth than those MTV-esq formulated bands for the masses. Can a German band really sound this good without falling to wayside and impersonating a SCORPION mantra . . . the answer is YES, they sound awesome!

Even though the album was released by Nuclear Blast Records, the band insists on recording and producing their own albums. The final product is a professional affair that sounds crisp and maintains the edgy facets of the instrumentation.

Tracks to listen out for are: For the World to Sing, Like Jesus Wept, Trail of Tears and
Home is where the Stars Are.
