OK you said era so Im taking full advantage and music doesnt really break down good by the decade either, so these are my eras
first I'd like to let everyone know LZ is not 60's neither is the more popular DP really
67-70 Hendrix-Joplin
70-73 Led Zeppelin- Uriah Heep
74-76 Rush-Tommy Bolin
77-80 Kansas-Dixie Dregs
80-84 I was too busy and listened to the radio on way to work and back, that was about it
85-88 SRV-VanHalen
88-91 Queensryche-Savatage
92-say 2000 was very busy again as well as disenchanted but I loved my Dream Theater and Fates Warning
2000-now Still listening to my old "crap" but discovered Symphony X and began to catch up on older CD's and discover more interesting bands, mostly progressive.

Tough one...

80's - Accept/early Yngwie/Metallica/Queensryche
90's - Fates warning/Dream Theater/Brother Cane

70s: Deep Purple/Rush
80s: Iron Maiden/Voivod
90s: Arcturus/Sigh

What part of two you didn't get? :p Gotta love me!

If we're just talking metal mine would have to be something like...

c. '70s: Sabbath

c. '80s: Maiden, Malmsteen, Megadeth, Metallica, Ozzy

c. '90s: Acid Bath, Iced Earth, Pantera, Slayer, Zombie (and perhaps Sepultura, just for Chaos--wasn't a huge fan of anything else of theirs)

c. '00s: Avenged, Opeth, Slipknot
