about soli that blow me away are mostly from bass players like Cliff Burton's Solo on the first metallica album or Joy DeMajo's Cover of the Humbleflight. Jimi Hendrix's Amercian National Hymn on Woodstook is amazing but it's not metal... The solo of BLACK SABBATH's Iron Man is quite intresting.
