Favorite Megadeth Guitarist excluding Dave Mustaine

Friedman was probably their most technically proficient and wrote some incredibly adept solos (Symphony of Destruction's is at once easy and quite hard). Poland was cool (I also liked Damn the Machine, using the word "classic" for that one might be a bit strong though). I was sad when Drover left. He played all the classics well, and wrote some great songs. Plus, he did a fantastic job on backing vocals in a live setting.

Woa!!! DAMN THE MACHINE are gods for me. That band left no traces behinds after their overwhelming record.

Saying that, and answering the question:

Outside Megadeth: Marty
In Megadeth: Friedman

However, I like a lot Poland and Broderick. About Drover, I love his work in Eidolon but in Megadeth not too much.

As for yesterday night:

Friedman - Broderick (that guys kicked ass live every Marty's studio solo)
Poland
the rest

Marty Friedman then a close second is Chris Poland.
Chris Broderick is awesome but IMO a bit too technical and lacks a little bit of feeling that Marty had with his exotic shredding. Broderick is a close third.
