my entire plan is dependant on my dad making insane money over the next 5 or 6 years, if he does I am going to be set for life.

a 500 grand GNC store is going to have a customer flow of around 40 - 50 a day.

45 times 45 average sale times 7 (days in a week) times 52 (weeks in a year) = 737,000

740 grand - 200 for products - 250 for taxes - 50 for royalty fees - 80 for everything else = 160 grand a year (and then of course I would give my dad about 30 grand of that every year to repay him over 10 - 15 year period).

so yea, those are the types of goals/ambitions I have. I will not be satisfied until I am making well over 200 k a year

You do know there are franchises that you can get into for like $10,000 or less right Dave (I could probably get you a list)? . May not be your cup of tea because they aren't about body building or anything. But you can start out with those and use the income from them to get a GNC franchise. Anyways how about doing it without your dad? But also remember Dave you will be obliged to go by their rules. The franchise companies. So you won't be 100% in control or the owner. I think with your interests you should open your own gym and/or health food/vitamin store not set in a mall because of the high rent. You would do good I think.

And I am working two jobs so that I can help pay for my nephews education, since his father died. And I live in a big house, which is expensive. Makes sense? I thought so. And I never portrayed myself as a saint. I just said I haven't cheated on a girlfriend.

He started out as a franchisee with Ben Franklin stores I believe and then when he learned all he could from them went his own way in the form of Wal-Mart. Great book and you can copy his methods. No law against that.

You should also read books by other great entrepreneurs for inspiration as well as the books I already recommended. You are still young and can plan this business within the next two or 3 years. You can research it in the meantime and perhaps save some $$ up. Just some ideas to throw at you. Learn how to make a business plan. Would be a nice inspiring project for you. You can write a business plan in your computer for both a franchise and your own business. Then show your dad or whomever (such as a entrepreneur professor or business owner) and see what they say.
Most of the richest men and women in this world have their own companies with complete control. Even a franchise legend like Ray Kroc (McDonalds) and others.
