Favorite Restaurants/Convenient Stores to eat at

The only chains here are fast food chains, and of those only Burger King and McDonald's exist.

As far as junk food goes, I'd say Sonic. White Castle/Krystal when you're starving at 2 am.

Not-so-junk food chains? Subway.

When you live here, there really is no reason to eat junk food unless you're absolutely craving it. I really, really, really like pizza here, because it's nothing like the heart attack in a box like in the states. Fresh veggies, sometimes even brick-oven cooked and the best meat you will ever find and none of that crappy thick-ass crust that fills you up after two slices. It's all thin crust here, mostly. If you want really, really good food with several courses, you don't go out to eat; you cook it yourself or eat at your friend's family's house. There's nothing like an Italian mother who knows how to cook, which means all of them. Unless of course, you are on a diet or don't like to eat a lot. If either of those apply to you, it's best to stay away,.

I'm sure you've all heard how they take food and eating very seriously, and that's not a joke. The entire act of eating with friends is something that you MUST do, or else they will take offense. They even eat when they're not even hungry. Aperatifs? Tons of finger food to go down with your drink, and just when you think you're starting to be full, they announce that it's time to go eat, which includes loads of food and even more drinks. Sometimes it's a pain in the ass though because you can never just "pop in for a bite to eat". Then there's the problem of having to fend them off with your knife because they just keep coming back and refilling your plate.

I've gained 20 pounds since I've been in Italy...all in the first year and a half or so. It's kinda tapered off now, but I realized that if I'm going to live here then I have to come to terms with the fact that I will not be like I was in the states, 20 pounds thinner, hehe.

I love Mc Donalds and Pop eyes, I dont care if its bad for me I cant get fat. I dont like Jack in the Box.

As far as a real restaraunt goes I dont think I've ever been to one.

Paneras and most any trendy coffee-places for wacky sandwiches and snacks. and i love Quiznos.

places for meals - anywhere. i love those cheap, greasy food places the same as restaurants like Carrabas, Applebees, etc. <3 food

I tend to like Red Robin and In N Out. And Carl's Jr. Not really... big on sit down places. Their food doesn't impress me. Around here anyway. The Texans told me on my visit I'll have Tex-Mex that'll make my groin swell to gargantuan proportions, but in less graphic terms.

Wawa is a big chain of convenience stores on the east cost. Primarily in eastern Pennsylvania and the bottom half of Jersey. However Wawa has appeared in Delaware, Maryland and I believe Virgina but they are rare.

Here in southern Jersey, they are everywhere. In a 5 mile radius around my place, I have 4 or 5 of them. Some have gas stations as well, which we dub "Super Wawa" Their gas is usually cheaper than most too.

If you are ever out this way and get the opportunity to go to Wawa, I suggest you do.

I've never even heard of that place before, and Jersey isn't far away from here at all...

Yep, I recall that Clerks was mostly filmed at night when the Quick Stop was closed. It's been many many years since I've seen the original. The Grunge Godot, so to speak. Wonderful movie.
