Favorite solos evar!?

True, but the sheer awesomeness of Pink Floyd's Time ensures that I don't need to.

But I will because I'm an equal-opportunity basher.

The outro of The Black Horsemen from King Diamond. It wasn't one of Denner's more intricate solos, but it was very powerful and emotional.

If Voice Of The Soul from Death counts as a solo, than that one is also another favorite.

Be prepared for a mighty amazing song on top of a terrific solo. The solo comes at the end, it's over a minute long and extremely tasteful and emotional. Not really any technical wankery going on either which was a huge breath of fresh air when I first heard it.

I liked the Comfortably Numb solo more than Time.

But really, most of David Gilmore's solos were outstanding.

Outside of Pink Floyd, I guess my favorite would be Tornado of Souls.

Dude, I now remember why I don't like Pain of Salvation. Prog just annoys me, as does that song. Sorry, just not my taste.

HOWEVER, the solo was really, really good. Not anywhere in the same galaxy as Time, but a really good and tasteful solo. I dug it.

Pain of Salvation is the best band on the planet. I'm seeing them record a DVD in Amsterdam on Friday! :D :D

But I'm glad you like the solo.

Realization and Reason's Desire from Winds have amazing solos that I cannot get enough of

Trapped In A Corner and To Forgive Is To Suffer from Death, Purifier Of The Stars from Melechesh, there's really too many to mention

Agreed pain of salvation is one of the best bands on the planet.

but ya like others said any david gilmour solo ftw.

comfrotably numb!

cant pick a favorite, although i really like (not my favorite) the solo to engines of hate. theres the one part in the solo that ive loved since the first time i heard it. i gotta listen to my fav songs to see which is my favorite.

also, its not a solo, but the outro riff to pantera - floods is one of my all time favorite riffs.
