Not even going to try to rank things or choose a "Best of..." because, really, I'm just going by personal taste here. Lots of good releases to choose from:

Ahab – The Boats of the Glen Carrig
Amorphis – Under the Red Cloud
Enshine – Singularity
Enslaved - In Times
Ereb Altor – Nattramn
Intronaut – The Direction of Last Things
The Moth Gatherer - The Earth Is The Sky
Myrkur – M
Paradise Lost – The Plague Within
Tribulation – Children of the Night
[Barren Earth - On Lonely Towers ... should have been here from the start]

Probably going to buy myself some classic metal for the holidays as well. Several notable holes in my collection -- stuff I used to have on cassette that either died or was eaten by the tape demon.

What's on your list, either of favorites or your holiday wish list?

In no particular order:
Amorphis - Under The Red Cloud
Paradise Lost - The Plague Within
Puscifer - Money Shot
Riverside - Love, Fear And The Time Machine
Odd Crew - Mark These Words

Hm... I have to say, that I don't buy that much new stuff. I usually "discover" bands, that have been around for ages and then concentrate on getting all their stuff, which distracts from new releases. But:

Albums 2015 (in that order)

* Amorphis - Under The Red Cloud
* Faith No More - Sol Invictus
* Beatsteaks - 23 Singles
* Disturbed - Immortalized
* Avatarium - The Girl With The Raven Mask

Best concerts would go to Beatsteaks, Berlin Philharmonic and Europe.

Amorphis - Under the Red Cloud
Wilderun - Sleep at the Edge of the Earth
Pressure Points - False Lights
Anomalie - Refugium
Paradise Lost - The Plague Within
Elder - Lore
Cain's Offering - Stormcrow
Chaos Divine - Colliding Skies

Amorphis – Under the Red Cloud
Barren Earth - On Lonely Towers
Enslaved - In Times
Swallow The Sun - Songs From The North
Moonspell - Extinct
Dynfari - Vegferð tímans
Kontinuum - Kyrr
Leprous - The Congregation

As for live gigs, Skálmöld at Eistnaflug. Nothing else in the last four years comes even remotely close, although seeing them thrice opening for Eluveitie last week sure was a pleasure in its own right. :headbang:

1. Swallow the Sun - Songs from the North
The rest of are not in any kind of order, but this one take a place one. It is even possible, that Songs from the North is the best album of my life. I don't remember that any other single album has effected to me so stronly. Beautiful and sorrowful, so overwhelming woeful, what a vale of all the tragic emotions. Oops, I went a bit melodramatic. :)

Amorphis - Under the Red Cloud
Ghost - Meliora
The Man-Eating Tree - In The Absence of Light
Korpiklaani - Noita
Barren Earth - On Lonely Towers

As for a gigs, the warmest and biggest suprise was Turisas, the band from my teen ages. :) They did a few finnish gigs with Barren Earth. Because of a re-arrangements, in my home town without Barren Earth. I was so pissed off I already canceled my participation, but my friend pressured me with. And what a gig!! I felt like 10 years younger after that energetic and reckless show!
Also BE in Nosturi and The Man-Eating Tree in Klubi were awesome.
Also Ghost Brigade in Klubi were amazing. Let's hope they still will do some new music.

As the year is winding down I have just a few that I want to mention that really stand out to me

Blind Guardian - Beyond The Red Mirror
Amorphis - Under The Red Cloud (completely out of my radar until 2 weeks ago...incredible album)
Symphony X - Underworld
Vhol - Deeper Than Sky
Horrendous - Anareta
Deaf heaven - New Bermuda
Enslaved - In Times

Baroness - Purple...starting to grow on me. If you're a fan you already love it, if you were like me and were 50/50 on Baroness, it may be worth trying out.

I'm pretty sure it's VHOL, not Viol. But yeah, awesome.

Most of my favorites have already been listed. I'd add that Profound Lore is, once again, my favorite label of the year and most of the stuff they've put out in 2015 are amazing.
