I'm really saddened to see Dance Of Death and Paschendale so high on the official site poll.

If that happens here, I think I might give up, go home and cry...

Pascendale is sort of growing on me a little. It'd be much better with the boring bits taken out.

Dance of Death is still in the top 5 worst Maiden songs for mine, even though about 20 seconds of it is quite good.

I actually think Dance Of Death is worse than Nomad. And that's saying a lot, as I CANNOT STAND that song.

Well, I love Nomad. Lyrics bite, but the music really rules. Roools, even.

My worst 5 Maiden songs, in real order:

Mother Russia
The Angel and the Gambler
The Apparition
Dance of Death
Montsegur

I only put in Montsegur cos I struggle to come up with a fifth song I really don't like. It could be Don't Look to the Eyes of a Stranger, or it could be Holy Smoke, it could be Quest for Fire (even though I think it's cool in a goofy kind of way). But Montsegur will do for now.

I didn't like Montsegur on my first listen at all. Almost hated it in fact. But I quite enjoy it now, even if Bruce's vocals are especially poor during the chorus.

Give it another chance Spiff, it ain't so bad.

As for Nomad, I just could never get past the lyrics and vocals. Looking back on it now however (and comparing it to Dance Of Death), it isn't so bad. Musically it's always been near brilliant, if but a tad too long.

Eyes Of A Stranger
Quest For Fire
Can I Play With Madness (mainly because it's annoying rather than bad. Plus I have horrible memories of this being attempted live)

I'm one of the few people who really like Fear Of The Dark as an album, but I just can't listen to that track.

I am also one of those few people. I love every song on fear of the dark (even weekend warrior) but just cant listen to fear is the key.

I really don't like 'Fear is the Key' either. The first time I heard it, it sounded clumsy and annoying, and I've never listened to it again.

I really dig the title track, and don't see what is so bad about it.
I also really like 'Nomad', but I can understand people not liking it.

'Face In The Sand' is my fav from the album, awesome spine tingling atmosphere. I love it.

There is more on the album I really like, 'New Frontier' would probably come next, but yeah, there is no songs I actually don't like.

I am a big fan of FOTD, was one of my first Maiden albums (along with NOTB), so I really got into it, and I think 'Fear Is The Key' is great.

Spiff, 'Mother Russia' is GREAT! What dislike it? I think it would make for a better instrumental than a song, but it is still great. Probably my fav Maiden song to play as well, great riffing.

'Can I Play With Madness' is easily my least fav Maiden song. Easily. I hate it.

I really dig the title track, and don't see what is so bad about it.

It just goes nowhere, and has really bad lyrics. REALLY bad.
Plus the vocals don't even fit the music.

I don't think the lyrics are that bad, and I think Bruce sounds great, but I do see what you mean there.

As for it going nowhere, I think it is an awesome epic that takes you away, much like 'The Rime', 'Alexander The Great', 'The Clansman' etc, and that is what I like most about it. It really paints a picture.
