Lots of people saying 2013 has been a great year for metal and I'm inclined to agree. Lots of fantastic releases across all genres and there's still so much to listen to. I'll be modifying my list to more accurately reflect some new stuff I've heard.

Jack O' The Clock - All My Friends : 2013 has been a strong year for quality music and this one tops my list regardless of genre. A modern-day Gentle Giant crossbred with American Folk, R.I.O./chamber rock-isms, sprinkles of jazz, and fantastic lyrics. "Avant-Folk." In a word: Brilliant!
