Hi guys, actually I use the t-racks for my mastering, but I hear really good things about the tc electronic finalizer, my question is this.....with the finalizer you have your master done or you must use plug ins ?
My idea is to buy the tc finalizer express..........
Thanks!

The Finalizer is a tool you use to create your master, with a compression, limiting, and EQ stage (for the Express...there are a few other things that the 96k version has). You can use plug-ins at the same time as well, which I tend to do, because the Finalizer all by itself isn't quite enough.

My mastering chain is definitely not the best thing ever, but it generally goes something like Linear Phase EQ Broadband -> Linear Phase EQ Lowband -> C4 -> Finalizer. I'm going to get the new Chameleon labs bus compressor soon though, and that will likely replace the C4. I've read people on here bashing on using multiband compression for mastering, but I have found it to be a really helpful tool when trying to dial in that professional sounding low-end!
