Finally a Distressor plugin

this plug is actually not bad at all... if you want dirty, pumping compression; it rules (room mics, bass, etc)...

gotta admit though, I NEVER end up using it, haha....

Never used any of these plugs but the company looks to have a pretty sweet range. However, no good for me as no OSX or RTAS

Im quite sure that Fabrice (slate digital) could make an awesome Distressor sim if he wanted (softube could do a great job too)

When I was on PC, the antress plugins made my system crash like crazy. I thought I had a problem, but deleting them (i.e. not loading them in Reaper) solved everything.

Other Options that can get you in Distressor Territory are Liquid Mix (sadly buggy and discontinued) and Mcdsp Compressor Bank. Just rebought Compressorbank the other day for an old session recall (I used it tons in Pro Tools Mix+ days) and I am seriously blown away by it (again). Compressorbank eats most other modern plugins for breakfast if you ask me despite it being a quite dated Plugin. There's a Distressor Preset too which is really great on snare.It also comes with the Bite Control which lets you adjust how much of the initial transient is getting through the compression circuit unprocessed which nails the attack behaviour of analog compression much better than most things out there.
