Finally got The Gathering and a question

I finally got The Gathering. What an amazing album. Good to see at least one band from way back still putting out solid music and evolving, rather than reinventing the wheel in a poor manner. Testament's roots still show, albeit in a more aggressive manner. Thrash metal is still around.

I also noticed a "Del James" co-wrote many songs. Is this the same Del James that's a close friend and co-writer with Axl Rose? Have been an inactive Testament fan for the last 8 or so years, so I'm not up on all of the news.

Weird: The Ritual and The Gathering are my favorite Testament albums. light and heavy.
