Finally tried Moongels

Go down to family dollar and get you those window sticky things. Same shit dawg. I have a big 4 inch clover on the low tom and like fifty other ones stuck to my windows. 3.99.

Could you post a pic please, I'm not sure what you're talking about. We don't have family dollar stores here (EU) but I guess I could find equivalent places.

Dude moongel and the tunebot are absolutely indispensable nowadays....

I love moongels. To be honest I find stock they're a bit big so I cut them down to half or even quarter size so I can get just enough control without making the drum overly dead.

Mind you alot of the time I don't even need to use them as I get a bit of resonance control from the triggers sitting against the head.

Sustain is the key to a great drum sound.

+1 but isn't sometimes better to get a dry quick snare sound and add reverb or blend tail samples to make it longer? Adding a few moongels around making sampling easier too.

Well i damp snare and toms too on rare occasions, when the drummer has bad drums, bad skins etc. But other then that i belive you can't get enough sustain :D

A good tuned snare/toms + a good drummer makes it just so much more fun, even though i always sample enhance the drums.

If I get good tuned drums and a really good drummer/band I won't use samples but most of the times I'll have sampled everything before recording anything else. So moongles are great for get less bleed in the OHs... :)

By the way I would really like to see a "Haga Productions - Studio Haga Mixing Guide with crillemannen".
I really like the guitar and drum tones you're getting there!
