Dude, that Deathbed stuff sounds totally amazing, really.

Fucking awesome.

What kind of gear did you use to track/mix that? Interface, DAW, Pres, etc.

Man I love that deathbed stuff aswell.. awesome.. Takes me back to when me and the lads played stuff like that and drank our asses off :]

Some info on how it was tracked would be awesome..

Hi! Thanks for all the kind words!
Deathbed recording info:
I recorded the drums in a bigger studio with a really nice live room. Very basic setup. Ambience mic setups: AB and M/S. I also used samples to give a bit more punch to the original sounds. Slate samples on snare (Sn 3 Z1, samples really quiet in the mix), kick (Kick 8 Z1) and toms ( Maple toms Z1, samples about 30% in the mix).

Amps were
1 & 2 :Engl Blackmore -> Marshall 4x12 bottom cab with classic lead elements -> e609 -> Presonus M80 pre.
3 & 4: ts9 -> 5150 -> 5150 slant cab with v-30's -> 57 -> Presonus M80 pre.
Bass: Fender precision -> Sans amp bass driver -> ampeg head (can't remember which one) -> ampeg 8x10 cab -> d112 -> TLA 5001 pre. + clean DI from bass driver.
Vox: sm58 -> dbx 266xl comp -> mbox2.

Mixed with pro tools ITB. Mainly used: digi III eqs, sonalksis eq, massey compressor, massey tape head, Chandler tg12413 comp, dverb, TL Space. Hardest thing in the mix was eqing that upper mid (2-4k) area in guitars, bass and vocals without making the whole thing sound muddy. Overheads were a pain in the ass too... The drummer used Paiste Rude cymbals.
