4 tracks. each pair plays the same part.all tracks panned hard

impulses used: guitarhack JJ BBAE 0, guitarhack JJ BBAE-1

bass is midi, drums are ezdrummer

it just doesnt sound anywhere near the same level as all of the other impulse recordings i've heard

requesting assistance

Try reducing the gain, add a little bit more mids and turn down the presence knob. Then quad track the guitars tightly.

The bass guitar is also extremely important to make guitars sound good. I think that's a Trilogy bass? If you can, try to get a real bass and record it through DI.

The guitars might need a little bit of compressing and some EQ tweaks.

It's an actual midi bass dude, not even a VSTi

Actually, that's a pretty rockin' scooped, metallica-esque tone you got there, me thinks. Might not be your desired result, but the result is a good one in the right context!

i will try and post the raw guitars later and you guys can maybe tell me how they sound so theres no shitty bass and drums getting in the way..

i did some tweaking with a mastering plugin izotope ozone, and it sounds better, but just nothing compared to what i hear on other peoples recordings

also my gain was very low like noon on both gain and lead gain knobs. i could try it on the 3rd channel which is a little less over the top, but the low end is a little flubby and i need my boost pedal to tighten it up

will be posting again, thanks

I think the first one sounds better. I like the guitar tone, perhaps just a tad too much gain. Nice work!
