So this is the first time i've really tried to mic my amp/cab setup, I made a quick mix to see how it would turn out. Fwiw, i think it came out alright. Well, not bad, at least, but i could really use another set of ears to help me get to where i need to be!

Gear used is as follows:
Jackson DK2 (duncan designed humbucker, Dropped Ab tuning) > TS9 > NS2 > Peavey Valveking with EQ20 in the fx loop > Mesa OS Recto 4x12 > Sennheiser e835 off-axis between cone and edge> PreSonus TubePre > AudioBox > Reaper.

Thanks, i quad tracked the guitars, and i feel like they are still a little thin sounding. Now i'm waiting to mic it up with a 57 and see how it compares to the e835.

Great fucking song, and a really excellent mix. You're right that the guitars are a little thin-sounding, but it has a really great balance and I feel like you could mess with the bass just enough to compensate.

Gotta love TAS, but anywho, I don't think it is too much of a problem with the bass guitar mixed in, but moreso where it's just guitar, it is lacking that low end. Maybe i can automate some eq in there or something.

I agree with the clipping, On my desktop speakers i can only hear it when the bass drop hits, but through headphones i can hear it through the entire mix, probably due to the master chain. I'll take a look at the bass as well. I used 4 Front bass, which is a mediocre single-sampled VSTi.
